PTCC Update and Action Item

This Action Item Update will be very short but extremely important.
One of our 76 PCTA member groups, the Daniel Boone Taxpayer Activists, has posted a letter and a submission form on their website entitled "Free Us From Unsustainable School Property Taxation!"
The letter requests that the Governor and the Pennsylvania House and Senate Leadership actively work to send HB 76 and SB 76, the Property Tax Independence Act, to the floor of the respective chambers for debate and vote. The form is very simple – all you need to do is fill in the information that is required for your request to be taken seriously and hit the "Submit" button at the end of the form to send it to all Harrisburg leadership. The entire process takes less than a minute to read and send this form, so please do it as soon as possible. It may be the single best way we have to let our government know we mean business every bit as much as the powerful special interests working against property tax elimination and replacement!

Another item that has been widely distributed during the past few days is the link to a Property Tax Independence Act petition that is posted on Senator David Argall’s website. Scroll to the bottom of the page to sign the petition. Please take a few moments to sign the petition to help Senator Argall and other Senate advocates to demonstrate taxpayer support for the Property Tax Independence Act to their colleagues.

The Property Tax Independence Act is the featured cover and centerfold story of the February Transactions magazine from the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers. What a terrific way to spread the word statewide, especially since it will be read by people who can be very influential in our efforts! Please take a few minutes to read the article.
